Murals & Public Art

Melanie Therrien has been doing murals for private homes and businesses for almost 30 years. Her passion for public art began when she moved her studio to Canal St. in 2015. Now Melanie and other Wicked Artists have art work all over the city.

Painted Traffic Control Boxes

In 2023 Wicked Artists volunteered their time and materials to cover over vandalism and give back to their city!

Melanie Therrien - Poppies - Canal St.

Corrina Tancrede - Turtles- Main St.

Jessica Emmert- Octopus - Lisbon St.

Melanie Therrien is working with Lewiston's Public Art Committee to expand her Traffic Control Box Public Art Project. The project has been a way to cover up vandalism and has expanded to 17 more boxes painted in the spring of 2024, 19 in the fall of 2024 and the last boxes in the spring of 2025.

Public Art is a great way to share art with others that is free and accessible to everyone. By investing in Public Art we can help beautify our city by covering up vandalism, create a sense of place, boost economic growth and gives artists opportunities.
